Tooltips not showing

  I have the latest version of Creative Suite CC and going through the Lynda.com training. David talks about using master pages and mousing over the page icons in the pages panel and I’m not getting the “tooltip” for that page to show what master page it is using. This is with deselecting everything in the gray area and all I see is the hand symbol when hovering over everything. I checked preferences > interface and can’t find anything to turn on or off to get them to work. I have seen them but from time to time, but not as I believe they should be working. Any suggestions to see them regularly?

  In Preferences > Interface, under Cursor and Gesture Options, you can choose Normal, None, or Fast for tooltips…are you NOT seeing them even with one of the “on” options checked?

  No, I’ve been having the same problem with recent versions of InDesign. Not sure why, but sometimes tool tips just stop showing up in certain places.
  
  For example, just now I hovered over a color in the Swatches panel, then I clicked somewhere on my page, and now suddenly the tool tips don’t work over any swatches in the Swatches panel. But if I close the panel and open it again, the tool tips start working again. Very frustrating.

  Hmmmm…I haven’t had this problem…but I still haven’t done the very latest update to ID. Good to know to keep an eye out!

  The latest InDesign, 2017.1, yikes. Still fails.Not sure what triggers tooltips from disabling. I tried the Tab to hide then re-show panels. Nope. Quit ID and then restart, works now. For a while at least,.

  I just ran into tooltips not working in the Pages panel…not showing me which section I am hovering over. Annoying. I am still one minor build behind…fingers crossed it’ll fix it when I update!
