Is there an InDesign bug with radio buttons and checkboxes? I’m running InDesign 16.2.1 and Acrobat DC 21.005.20048 on a Windows 10 Pro machine.
I’ve created both a radio button group as well as checkboxes and both are experiencing this issue. The off state uses a 70% paper fill while the rollover uses 100% paper fill with a larger size and a drop shadow. The on state is also a larger size and drop shadow but with a 100% green fill. I’ve selected the fill only for these in the effects panel as there’s also text in the box, so it’s not applied on the object level.
When exported to pdf, the rollover state sticks and the off state is on over it to where I can see the on state on mouse out through the transparent background of the off state. Rolling over it again will “duplicate” the on state and drop shadow until the shadow is thick and black.
To test this out I’ve also recreated the graphics as well as used new square shapes, and both are doing this. I also got rid of the drop shadow, but it’s still doing it with those graphics as well. It also doesn’t matter whether the drop shadow is applied to the shape or the interactive element group. The “duplicating” issue is the same.
I often use checkboxes and/or radio buttons to create rollover states in button groups and remove the “check” or “circle” indicator.
I’ve done this dozens of times in the past without any issue.
