Split columns – starts in the second one

      Hi.

I’m having some very strange behavior in Indesign 2020:

      1. Sometimes the text is missing in the text frame. If I make it wider, I can see it, but when I get back to the normal width, the text is gone. I checked the “Keep options” and they are “Keep lines together: All lines in Paragraph”. Any idea?

      2. If I try to split columns in a paragraph only (not the full frame), the text starts in the second column. If the text frame is linked to another one, in the “next frame” it starts in the 1st column. If I have only split text in the text frame, it works fine, but if I have a “one column” paragraph before it, it doesn’t work.

      Any idea?

      Thanks in advance.

Maybe “No Break” is applied to the text?

      David,

As usual, you are right. Thanks, I had a GREP Style with a “no break” to avoid having less than 20 characters in the last line. The style was based in another style that had it. I needed to create a new document and remake the styles from scratch to solve, but it worked.

      Thanks a lot.
      Luiz
