      Greetings —

I'm working on a textbook and importing text files preformatted in Mac Word 2004 with styles that match those in my InDesign CS4 template. This is my usual workflow and, aside from the occasional aberration, it works pretty smoothly.

With this current set of Word files, though, I'm seeing something I've never encountered before. Some styles (1 head, 2 head, Figure Title, etc.) are coming in properly styled but stuck inside anchored text frames, rather than as part of the text flow as they should.

I've looked at the style definitions in Word, but I can't find anything that seems likely to trigger this (no Borders or Frames, not part of a table or text box).

Does anybody know of a paragraph style setting in Word that InDesign interprets as an anchored text object? Thanks in advance for any insight.
