Retain formatting in linked stories in alternate layouts

      In CS6, I’ve created a file including an alternate layout with linked stories. I’ve mapped styles from the parent story to the alternate layout child. However, when I make edits to the parent and update the child’s link, it reverts to the parent’s style. The text frame even deletes the anchored image I have in the child text frame.

      Is there a way to retain the child formatting?
