Not sure if this is PDF question or an indesign question. I stumbled upon something today and have no idea how it’s done.
I have to recreate an event program from an existing PDF. It’s a little complicated so I decided to put the model pages from the PDF onto a background layer in ID.
Looking at the PDF in Preview, there are no crop marks.
Printing the page on my home printer, there are no crop marks.
But when I placed the individual pages of the PDF into ID, there were crop marks!
      How does this work?

I’m guessing they were on a non-printing layer, and somehow that’s translating.

When you place a PDF, you can choose to view Show Import Options. In the Import Options dialog box, you can specify what gets placed. It may be that it’s set to Bounding Box instead of Media, for example:

How do you tell ID to put cropmarks on a non-printing layer?
