      Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what your take on PDF flipping page technology. I'm aware Indesign allows the SWF output for PDF pages, but it doesn't build up a set of tools around it, like TOC and bookmark and adding notes etc. Or does it? I haven't tried exporting to SWF from InDesign yet?

I've been researching some sites on that distribute software that converts the PDF to a page flip book and then allows you to host it yourself on your own site.

That's important – hosting it ourselves.

Two I've been looking at are:

      https://page-flip.com/

      and

      https://inhousedigitalpublishing.com

To my knowledge Adobe don't do a software package that lets you build a PDF flip book quite that easily. Although it would be great to have a drag and drop sort of application. I'm fairly certain of it – it would be cool if Adobe had a program like the above – I'm good with flash – but I wouldn't have time to build a template for every job and it's cumbersome to say the least – but here I am always looking for software to save time. And the above software does save time – it can be done.

Anybody use the two above or have any other suggestions for software?

      Eugene

Problem with issuu is that you have to host on their servers – I really need to be able to host it on our own servers.

I've used the free version of this one: https://www.flashpageflip.com/

      Here's another: https://www.flashloaded.com/fla…..geflipper/

I have a demo of this but haven't tried yet.

Well we got the one from Page Flip – and to be honest it's a pOp to use. Load the PDF in and you have your interface. Load up to the server. All done.

It's a 12 month licence we got – I'd like to see Adobe have a program like this – why not have one? They already started with the page flip in InDesign Cs4. I'd like to see adobe do more to make it easier to publish your print documents for the web – maybe someday :D

Just like U, I've tried several Pdf converter, but most of them took a lot time. So I strong support converting online , then download the converted file on the fly. AXMAG,PDF to Flash converter can do this smoothly and easily. The main site is https://www.axmag.com/, then clike the “convert PDF” button.

      Hope this would help.

Basically SWF (.swf) needs for Vector graphics, multimedia and actionscript. And if you are looking better use of swf files for pdf i think eMagCreator and Pageflip are the priority softwares in the ebook publication field. Both contain pdf to flash converter.

Well, another recommended software is XFlip page flip software, it converts the PDF to a page flip book, and you can upload the files to your website, viewing the flipbook on the computer browser and other mobile device browser such as iPhone, iPad and android device.

I am using a kind of page flip software named 3D pageflip. It can convert PDF file to flash flip book (SWF) with 3D realistic page turning effect. And then output the flash book as HTML and SWF file. Also the flash book can be embeded on webpage. It is easy to use and saving time.
