      Hey guys & gals,

Just curious to see how others handle multiple revisions within their workflow. With single documents you can just duplicate the file, rename it and structure your revisions that way. And in my case, when I mean revisions, it's not just “copy”, at times it can consist of redesigning certain sections and then two or three revisions down the road, going back to an original idea two or three revisions back. What if your working with a Book that contains multiple chapters? Do you duplicate the whole thing as well? Always looking to improve and/or refine my workflow. Would love hear from others. Thanks!

Yeah, I keep all the files in the book in one directory, and then duplicate the whole directory for each version, and rename by incrementing numbers in the filename. And then I go and rename all the INDD files, and then I remake the book with the new files. A hass, but then I always know what version I'm working with.

I've heard of such things as workflow management software and version control, but I can't quite get my head round how they're supposed to work.
