I have read about merging two table – but following the instructions, can’t see how to highlight both table on Mac. Every time I click or shift-click on one, the other is released. Please… Is there a secret way?

Where were you reading about merging tables?

Check out this solution, but before you try the tagged text technique, read all the comments:

      Hello,

I was trying to use the in-tools script that you allude to in comments, under ‘indesignsectets.com/merging-two-tables…..’
But it says: ‘To use the script, select two tables and run it.’
And with Mac I can’t seem to select two tables.

I’ll try the plain ol’ copy n’ paste solution….

      Thanks,

I checked the comments for that script and came across this:

“You select tables using the text tool. Just select enough of the text that the tables reside in to highlight both tables, and it should work.”

Don’t know if that will work for you or not.

Thanks – I read through the comments too.
But can’t on Mac drag across two tables… if I select outside and drag<I create a new text frame… and if I select one table and then try to select the second, the frist one deselects – Shift click doesn’t help here..

So I cant’ find a way.

I found that if you link the tables, you can just delete the second text box and extend the first one.
