I have a master page with a number of items on it, including an image placeholder in the background. The document also has live captions, which I use to provide photographer credit. I have the master page set up with all on a single layer, except the image placeholder, which is on a lower layer.
The only change I make on document pages is to place an image in the image placeholder (I don’t override master page items–I just use File>Place and then click on the image placeholder).
The problem is making this work with the live captions. When the live caption in located in the layer with the rest of the master page items, it doesn’t recognize that there is an image below it on the document page, and I get a “no intersecting link” message.
I have tried putting the live caption in the same layer as the image placeholder in my master page, but once I place an image on my actual document page, that image moves to the top of the layer, and I have to override the master page items to bring the live caption to the front again.
I can save the live caption as a snippet, and place it on the document page after I have placed the image, but I would really prefer to be able to keep it on the master page. Is there any way to do this?
