I’m working on the third book of a series of language handbooks.
The client want this one to be Kindle-friendly.
The book is set up in tables. Here’s a screenshot: https://tinypic.com/r/2w6flg3/9
Can anyone give me some guidance as to how to set this up or where to find resources on this?
I work primarily in print, so I’m not up to date on epublishing.
As I wrote, I’m working in CS6 (I understand CC might have easier options…)

      Thanks a lot!

      Hi Rivkah

My company’s software CircularFLO https://www.circularflo.com works with InDesign CS6 and later and can quickly produce zoomable or searchable fixed layout ebooks to the Amazon KF8 format, as well as fixed layout EPUB3 too. This will preserve the look of your pages exactly.

Our software is Mac only and I notice from your screenshot that you are on a PC. If you don’t have access to a Mac we do also offer a service to convert to from your supplied PDFs.

Please get in touch for more info or to try a sample conversion.

      Thanks

Thanks, Ken. I contacted you through the site.
      I am on a PC, that’s correct.

Anyone else have any insights as to how I could do this on my own? Or tutorials that would help?

I don’t know if this is what you’re after but I work in CS6. First, export to PDF and ensure you’re happy with the result. Then go to the Kindle site and use their tool to create what they call a Kindle Textbook. This is really just their version of a fixed-layout ePub. I did it a few months back. Problem is, you can’t distribute that file (or mess with it) yourself, it’s only available through Amazon.

      Cheers, Paul

Thanks, Paul. I will look into that.
Did you do it with something that was more than just straight text?
Don’t know if you looked at the screen shot, but the book has images and tables as well.

      Hi Rivkah,

My book is image heavy with sidebars but only a couple of tables. I did see the example. If you’d like to see the result download the Kindle Textbook Creator and then I’ll send you the file.

      Paul
