I have a title with one Italic word in it, but when it get’s applied to the running header, all the words are in all caps Roman. Why wasn’t the italics picked up?

The title itself is in in bold so that word is in Bold Italics – so I was wondering if that was part of the issue. I tried creating a dummy text box outside the page but overlapping onto the page in Roman and Italics, but that didn’t work.

      Any other ideas?
      Thanks!

Running head variables don’t pick up character styling (like italic text). I believe the best way to do that is with Power Headers from in-tools.com

Thanks – I will look into that.
I also assume that if I change every word “X” in the doc to italics, it won’t change on the header, right?

I’m wondering now, 8 years later, if anything has changed. Is there an easy way to do this?

Nope. Nothing has changed. I keep hoping that Harbs’ old “Power Headers” tool will be revived.
