Here is my problem. I have a document with a couple of footnotes at the beginning of the document. A TOC in-between and then more Footnotes. Because the TOC is between them I can’t link the pages together. So I have 2 sets of footnotes start over to 1. If this wasn’t a accessible document then it would an easy fix, I could fake it or link the boxes together. Is there a way to make the first set of footnotes roman numbering and the second set numbered? I could really use some advise on this. Thanks.

InDesign’s footnotes are not nearly as flexible or powerful as any of us would like. I don’t think there’s any way to do what you want automatically. There are external scripts and add-ons such as Footwork from id-extras.com and Peter Kahrel’s scripts here: https://creativepro.com/files/kahrel/indesign/footnotes.html

Using these scripts will make the footnotes not footnotes anymore and lose there accessibility. I would have to fix the footnotes manually for the first half of the book in Acrobat.

      Doable of Course!

“1 click!”, by script, as in this video:
