Hi,
I only recently discovered the great interactive capabilities of InDesign. I am attempting to put together an interactive ePub for a client, however, when I try to create a button, it doesn’t work. When I look at the preview, the cursor changes to a hand when I hover over the button but the hover state (color change) doesn’t happen, nor does anything happen when I click. I tried exporting it as a fixed layout ePub and looking at it in Digital Editions, thinking maybe it was just the previewer that wasn’t working but no luck.
I was following online instructions in creating the button. I created a simple ellipse and assigned it a color. I opened the buttons and forms panel and turned it into a button with the button at the bottom, then I assigned a new color to each state. Even at this point, in preview mode, the colors don’t change upon hover or click. If I go further and assign an action, such as to show a text box, nothing happens.
I’m pretty frustrated but I’m sure it’s something simple that I’m not doing. I don’t have text on top of the button so it isn’t that. In the example video, it all works so I’m bummed. It’s a cool feature if I can get it to work.
Thanks so much in advance!
By the way, using InDesign CC 2017. It’s updated to the most recent version as of 6/5/2017…
