Hi All
I’m experiencing a few oddities with my installation of InDesign CS5.5 and I’m wondering if anyone can shed any light on what might be happening or what I can do to fix it.
Recently, for some text boxes I’ve been having an issue whereby text in a text box is displaying really poorly. My view settings are set to typical and I’ve made sure that there is no override on the text boxes and have selected to clear any object level overrides.
One thing I did notice is that if I set the fill colour of the text box to paper this happens and if I set it to none it stops happening…
I did wonder if it’s something related to transparency as it’s sometimes when I have a text box over a picture, and I did notice it most recently when putting a text box over a background picture which was set to 40% transparency.
Correctly displaying:

Odd Displaying:

Not great pictures but tey do show the problem.
The second problem I’ve been having is with black text that has for seemingly no reason and not by something I’ve done (or at least not by something I’m aware of having done) set it self to be ‘registration’ rather than ‘black’
I first spotted this when trying to print a document a while back only to be told that the page (full of text) was blank and there was nothing to print…
Has anyone else experienced anything like these two issues or have any idea how I can stop them happening??
