Import single layer

Hi guys, is there any script that imports single layer from other file? Example: once completed my file, I give the idml files to different companies which translate in different languages simultaneously. When they have done, my files are back, but I have, for istance, here the spanish and here chinese to import in the original file. Any idea? Thank’s in advance Iacopo
