      Hi

I am new to this forum.

I need help in setting up of this kind of setup. I have been trying this since a long time. I have seen couple of videos but not able to achieve what I want.

Static cpations have been setup in the images.

What I want is that when I place an image and apply an object style to it,
the caption should position itself with the styling of faded background at
the same position shown in the image or the position which I set, it could be either top right, bottom left etc.

      I have following setup done:

      a. Object style named “image” with stroke of 1pt and and image frame width set to 97mm. It would be very helpful if the height adjust accordingly.

      b. Object style named “caption” with fill of Paper and Fill transparency set to 45

      c. Paragraph style named “caption text” with Arial 10pts center aligned.

Currently I am doing it manually.

      Thanks in advance.

I don’t think there is any way to do this with a single object style. It needs to be two frames (the image frame and the text frame with the caption in it).

        Hi David

Thanks for the reply. Is there any video on it where I can follow the instructions ? OR any pdf ?
        Thanks

      Hi David,

Thanks for the help. I will definately go through the videos and articles you have sent.
I am more concerned about the position of caption and not the faded background.

Ideally, the static captions are attached at the bottom of the image. I want the caption box itself on the image i.e caption box to be bottom aligned with the image OR on the top left of top right of the image. I could’nt find the way to do that.

      Thanks

Ah! Great question… go to Object > Captions > Caption Setup.
Set the caption to be Below Image.
Then set the Offset to something like –2p (some negative number)

Thank you so much David. It worked.
