      Hi!
For my L/O explorations in Indesign, I like to create multiple pages (“unbutted” but spaced out equally) in a spread, to facilitate better overview. Much like mirroring an illustrator art board style, if you will.

However, unlike the latter, I cannot Paste In Place on distinct pages in Indesign as it takes into account only one point-of-reference for the X,Y co-ordinates in a single spread. I have to manually move them via Step And Repeat. It gets laborious as I want the items on different pages not following a set pattern. I can’t paste onto Master Pages as they aren’t meant to be base items.

For example, I have spreads of 10 pages each. I want to copy a graphic from Page 1, to be pasted at the same spot on Pages 3, 4 and 8. And perhaps also on the NEXT spread on pages 12, 15, 16 and 20.

Does anyone have an idea of how to do this quickly (via some hidden technique, script ??) other than having to Step And Repeat manually across.

      Thanks!
      Ling

      Hi yjling,

The way I do it is first copy the item I want to paste. Go to the page I want to paste it on. Make sure you check the correct page. Check the the left lower corner of the Indesign window and simply use paste in place. You do have to do each page individually.

I use this all the time. Works great.

      Good Luck.

      Ken
