I'm working on creating a bunch of find/change queries to use to globally change fonts (probably with Multi-Find/Change; http://www.automatication.com, which I using as demo to see if it's what I need). My problem is this: when in the “Find format” box I select the font I want to replace and then save the query, the font name doesn't “stick”, but reverts to Myriad Pro. I can run the query once, but if I go to another saved query or make up a new one and then go back to retrieve the saved one, it has reverted to Myriad Pro.

The font I'm trying to replace is used in the document and is installed on my machine. It is probably some kind of proprietary or “home made” font (it came with the original ID file and the name tells me it's been modified or is not a professional foundry font). I need to replace it since it doesn't have all needed characters. I seem (at this point) to be having this problem with only one font; another one I tried “stuck”. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks!

PS. I'm using CS5.5 on a Mac running OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).

Solved: the problem was simply that the font was not activated! It came up in the drop-down list at the top, but the activated fonts in the document are below a gray line at the bottom of the list. I thought it strange that I saved one font name in the query, but when I selected that same saved query, a different font name was substituted. As it turns out, InDesign's find/change defaulted to Myriad Pro only because the font whose name was saved in the query was not activated.

Still curious, though, is this: I think Minion Pro is my default font, not Myriad Pro, so I'm not sure why ID chose Myriad Pro (not that it matters now). I did some fiddling with the default font as per info here (http://blog.gilbertconsulting.com/2010/02/changing-indesign-default-font.html), but that did not change what ID substituted :)
