I'm importing text from Word using Styles Mapping. I have 3 paragraph styles (Headings, Names & Address) The name & addresses should flow in 1 text frame with 4 columns & the headings need to span all columns which requires to have 1 text frame instead of 4 individual text frames in ID CS5. But how I do I flow the text to create pages automatically. So far I'm able to flow the text within 1 text frame & ID automatically insert 180 new pages but this doesn't help help because I don't want go page by page to select a single text frame & change it to 4 columns for the names & addresses.

I'd suggest checking out my lynda.com title InDesign Essential Training, or my book Real World InDesign or some good training materials. It sounds as though you want to place and auto-place multiple pages with a Shift-click of the Place cursor.

Never mind I figured it out. I created a text w 4 columns in the master pages/ went to page 1 shift click/ place text/ shift click over text frame.

Thanks David. I'm already a Lynda.com subscriber. There is soooooo much training available on that site that I even didn't know where to start.
