      Hello!
I am doing 300 b5 pages book in InDesign CC.
All text is typed in Microsoft Word.

Some paragraphs are beginning with a single space (seems like a repeated mistake by typist)
I was trying to use find/replace to change it, but nothing worked, actually.

I need to find one return followed by a single space and change it to two returns *(client needs to separate each paragraph with one blank line)
First line of every paragraph also has 10mm inset (which is already done).

      Aleksandar,

I don’t use Microsoft Word anymore so i could not do an exact test, but try using the GREP button and then search for

      ^

and replace it with nothing. To explain this

      ^ = the beginning of a line
= means any single whitespace character

      I hope this helps.

Jay, THANX a lot! It worked!
… obviously, I am pretty new to GREP, and don’t really know the symbols, so I am trying to find what I need under “special characters for search menu” …
Anyway, what is standard return (one enter at the end of paragraph) symbol?

I have these options and can not get to understand the descriptions (differences between them):
      ~b ~k \r

I just would have fixed it in the Word file.

Look for ^p + space band and replace with ^p^p

I don’t work with GREP very much, but I think (and I could be wrong) that \r is a hard return and is a soft return.
