I have just gone through AM Concepcion's excellent and recent tuturial on Lynda.com about EPub, following all the steps. However I still have a questions and a problem which means I cannot yet export my book for digital editions…
The questions are:
Why does AMC not mention the export for Kindle option at all available for InDesign? I followed her directions exactly for the TOC for example but that was completely rejected when I tried to export to Kindle. Do I have to go back to the normal InDesign table of contents for Kindle and will it have the hyperlinks I have just set up?
Also, Kindle seems to want another 'extra' cover image….does this mean I have to export twice, once for Kindle with a separate cover and InDesignTOC and once with cover inside the document and the AMC hyperlinked TOC???? I was under the impression that if I followed the tutorial I would have covered all bases including Kindle.
Also, I am having a problem exporting the whole book. Whenever I 'export for digital editions' InDesign crashes (if I have all the chapters in the book selected it opens them all then crashes and if none are open it just crashes. I have saved the book….); If I export the book to Kindle only the document open gets exported….I am sure these are very simple questions but can someone save me going through the long Document film yet again…?
