Excel links will not update if spreadsheet is open

      Hi all,

      I’ve been using links to Excel for a while, with no problem establishing the links, formatting tables with styles, or updating the links. Except, I don’t seem to be allowed to have the source spreadsheet open when it comes time to update the links – the update icon is grayed out. I have to close the spreadsheet for the update to work. It’s kind of annoying – opening-changing-saving-closing the file – especially if I want to try out a few ‘what-if’ data alternatives. Is this a limitation, or am I doing something wrong? I am using CS6, by the way.
