      Hello,

How can you design your own stroke in ID?

I need a stroke with round corners, that's not a problem. The problem is, I only need the bottom half of this stroke…

I can't design it in Illustrator because it needs te be made with XML and scripts… So it has to be an ID stroke… But just the bottom half…

Does anyone know any plug-in or other solutions..

      Thanks…

      No it's not similar, thanks…

      Its like this…

It's now a very short stroke (line), but it's just for preview…

      Ah! A picture's worth a thousand words!

You could do this with a paragraph rule… well, one paragraph, but two rules (above and below):

Here's a snippet you can place in your document to get you started. (Look for the half rule paragraph style.)

BTW, after downloading that snippet file, you may need to change its name to remove the .txt file extension that sometimes gets added. It should be “.idms” — then you can use file > place to place it into your document. It's just a paragraph style that provides a rule, based on the images above.

You could also try a stroke with a gradient applied to it. Use four stops: one at each end, and two in the middle, both at 50%. Then use a gradient rotation angle of 90 degrees.

      oooh, thanks.

Thank you for the file David, I will take a look at it.

I didn't know you could use the gradient this way…It's always nice to learn new things…

      Thank you both…
