Deleting Empty Paragraph in InDesign

I want to write a javascript to remove all empty paragraph in a document. To do this I am using GREP option to find and replace. It is working well for non-XML content. When it comes to XML workflow GREP deletes empty element(xml tags) also. See the below picture for more clarifications.
When I hit replace, <title></title> also deleted. Can anyone advise that, is there any other way to find and replace empty paragraph (unwanted paragraph return) in InDesign with xml contetns?
