      Hey Anyone/Everyone,

I have 400+ page doc which had been setup for print (setup across multiple docs using an InDesign 'Book'), it also contains an Index supplied by a professional Indexer, this was provided as a Word file (no links, just text and relivant page numbers). I'd like to convert these page numbers into links across my book without having to rebuild using InDesigns Indexing tool, as this will be a rather manual approach. So the hard work has alerady been done, the index and correct page numbers are already there just not linked.

Is there a script available to convert index page numbers into hyperlinks, across a book? I read on Marc Autret's website he was look at creating/completing one a year or so ago but i have not been able to locate it.

Appreciate if anyone has any pearls to share.

      Matt

      Hi Matt,

Recently I wrote a similar script, but it works only with active document.

I have such a script. I created it as a tool to allow an index to be exported to ePub. Currently InDesign does not export an index created in InDesign to ePub. This script does so but it also will take an index created exernally and export that as well. In the process in either case, hyperlinks are created to each page. It will work with a self contained document or a book.
