I created CC Library assets in InDesign consisting of three text boxes and a rectangle with a gradient feather applied. One of the text boxes has a table.

At any rate, I want to be able to place these as links so that it’s scalable, but instead InDesign will only allow me to place a copy. It places them either grouped or ungrouped depending on how I saved the asset in the library. Is there a way to do this without a time-consuming workaround?

The only way I could find a way to achieve what I’m looking for is to save the asset, place it in Illustrator as a link, then save the Illustrator link in the library. It’s time-consuming, creates double the amount of assets, and would have to edit the original in InDesign to then open the Illustrator version and save the changes for it to update in a placed version of the asset back in InDesign.
