Can you divide shapes in Indd (as you can in Illustrator?)

I’d like to take 2 overlapping circles and divide them the way you can in Illustrator. The result would be 4 shapes — each circle minus the overlap, and the overlap turned into it’s own shape.

Is there a way to do this in Indd?

      Thanks

Hi Susan, you can find the pathfinder panel (similar to the Ai one) in the Window menu, under Objects and Layout submenu.

      Hope this helps

Thanks, but there is no divide in the panel and I played around with all the others. I should have mentioned I’m on CS6 — newer versions may have divide.

Yeah, it’s similar, but ID doesn’t have that feature. You would have to clone the circles first and do multiple pathfinder operations.

Thanks, that’s what I thought, but was hoping for an easier way. David, thank you for all the tips and tricks. You are an Indd rock star!
