      You can try another version of Garamond from Adobe’s Typekit. Or you could change the text to paths.

        It is not a problem of this font and of this document in concrete;
        It happens to me with other sources and other works …

        It happened to me about 2/3 years ago, but now it’s been recurring!

        :(

      Your fonts are outdated. You need to use fonts with the extension .ttf or .otf. Fonts used to have 2 files, one for screen and one for printing. You only have the screen file. Fonts are basically software and need to be updated occasionally.

        that made sense, if it ever happened in that file and fonts … but the error happens sporadically (in different works and fonts)…

        when it happens, just close and reopen the file (just the file, I do not even need to restart the program) and it already exports correctly

        I also suspect problems with the fonts, but I get the already finished docs from clients, and I can not control the fonts they use …

        so, what I do now is:

        – in the fontbook / mac (through validate file) or in the FontDoctor (Suitcase), I will check the fonts before using. However, in one of the cases where the problem occurred, the fonts had only yellow warning and no error);

        I’ll keep trying to understand …

        thanks

      This problem with old fonts has been around for many years and will only get worse. I tell clients that I will use newer versions of their fonts because the ones they use are unstable. If the font is free, you can send them a new font file. Otherwise, they can send you final PDFs or expect their document to be modernized!

      Adobe suggested me to do a Restore to the program through one of these options:

      1 – While pressing Shift + Option + Command + Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.

      2 -For manual deletion or renaming, the locations of the preference files are as follows:
      • InDesign SavedData
      Users / [user] / Library / Caches / Adobe InDesign / Version [version] / InDesign SavedData

      • InDesign Defaults
      Users / [user] / Library / Preferences / Adobe InDesign / Version [version] / InDesign Defaults

      I already did option 1, but then the problem happened again …
      Now I am making option 2, and my question is:
      I only delete these 2 files:
      – InDesign SavedData
      and
      – InDesign Defaults
      ?

      Or the rest of the content in the two folders?
