I would like to print PDFs in Acrobat 9.3.2, created from InDesign CS4 documents, in file name sequence. I am printing to a Ricoh Aficio MP 4500C and a Ricoh Aficio 3260C.

It is a monthly trade association magazine (typically about 80 to 100 pages) where PDFs of ads are placed in each InDesign file then a PDF is created from each individual InDesign file page. There are usually about 27 to 30 separate InDesign files, sometimes a few more sometimes a few less, typically about six to 10 pages long each.

The PDFs will be single files, which typically range in size from 1,100 KB to 1,800 KB each. Some are larger and some are smaller.

I have tried combining the PDFs (which we do not want to do) plus our printers cannot handle such large files.

The files must be in sequential order when printed, for example, 042_mcfarlan.pdf, 043_mcfarlan.pdf.
I’ve also tried printing from the folder, but the files do not print in the correct order.

If you have Acrobat Pro you could try batch print under Advanced – Document Processing – Batch Processing – Print All. If all the pdfs are in the same folder this should work.

      Good Luck.

I usually just sort them in filename order in the Explorer (Windows), select them all from the bottom up and choose File Print from the Explorer window. Seems they print in order that way.

You can also use Acrobat to Combine all the PDFs, and you choose which files go in which position. Then just print the combined PDF
