We are designing a book. We have set a text box in the A master page with a custom basline grid to which the text is set to align. The book consists of 60 chapters (ie separate documents within the Book document). We now want to alter that baseline grid in the master page text frame ie accross all documents. When we alter it in the A master text frame and sync, although the new grid appears in the text frame accross documents the text now seems to be in a separate (new) text frame, still aligned to the old text frame baseline grid (now the current document baseline grid), that floats off the page when you click and drag leaving the new text frame visible but empty. Grids in back is checked. How, on our master pages, can we override the document baseline grid, or get it to match that of the new desired text frame grid without having to do it manually on each document, or get rid of the document baseline grid completely, or ANYTHING so our text aligns throughout the book to the new grid in our text frame?

You appear to be using Indesign master pages like they are used in older versions of Quark, best not to.

Use object styles to save the text box style with your new baseline grid, text styles etc. then you can sync this across your book file.
