Greetings —
I’m working in ID CS5.5, about to upgrade to CS6 for a big color textbook project. The client is very into tagging, to the degree that they’ve provided a huge list of standardized tags (i.e., paragraph and character style names) that I’m to apply to my InDesign files. Most of this will involve just using their names instead of mine (my General Text now becomes their TX), but I’m concerned that I’ll also need to actually assign nested character styles.
I’ve long been bugged by ID’s behavior with nested styles, which waddle like a duck and quack like a duck, but aren’t really a duck (as is quickly evidenced if you search for a character style; nested styles aren’t found).
So my two-part question is this: Are nested styles in CS6 now real?that is, will they export for ePub and otherwise behave as if they were assigned by hand? And if not, is there a script that will assign actual character styles to nested styles?
Thanks for any help and insight you-all might provide!
