TechSmith Upgrades EnSharpen Codec with Universal Support for Intel-based Macintosh Computers

TechSmith Corp., the world’s leading provider of screen capture and recording solutions, today introduced EnSharpen 1.1, enabling individuals with Intel-based Macintosh computers to compress screen recordings such as multimedia tutorials, presentations, screencasts, and animated content for cross-platform playback via QuickTime on Macintosh and Windows computers.
Once downloaded, EnSharpen integrates with Camtasia Studio, QuickTime Pro, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Snapz Pro, iMovie and all other Macintosh and Windows authoring and editing tools that allow access to third-party video codecs for QuickTime. EnSharpen is an unprecedented lossless video codec that enables high-quality and small-file video playback.
“With the explosion of online video and broadband, individuals and organizations are delivering screen-recorded content more often than ever and viewers are demanding that the content load fast without sacrificing clarity,” said Cindy Fuhrman, EnSharpen Product Marketing Manager at TechSmith. “The new generation of professional content creators running Intel-based Macs can use EnSharpen with its elegant and effortless delivery codec without having to choose between compression and quality.”

EnSharpen is based on the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec (TSCC) found in the company’s market-leading Camtasia Studio software and is the first delivery codec to provide Macintosh users with lossless quality and a high compression ratio. EnSharpen also enables all AVI video files encoded with the original TSCC codec to play in the QuickTime Player on the Macintosh and Windows platforms.

EnSharpen 1.1 supports Macintosh OS X 10.4 and higher. EnSharpen is available immediately for download at www.techsmith.com. The suggested retail price is $149.00 for a single license. The EnSharpen decoder is available at no charge at: https://www.techsmith.com/download/codecs.asp.
