Soxy Matches Files with the Right Programs
Press release
Rorohiko Workflow Resources, a software development and consultancy company targeting the prepress and publishing area announces the immediate availability of version 1.0.4 of its Soxy application for Macintosh. The Windows version of Soxy in beta at version 0.2.1b
Soxy saves seconds – hundreds of times a day.
Soxy also averts painful and easy-to-make mistakes. Every day some poor designer returns an updated document in CS4 format to a customer who can only open CS3 files. Installing Soxy solves this issue.
Soxy is a match-maker. It matches a document file with the correct program when multiple versions of applications like QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator… are installed on the same computer.
When a document file icon is double-clicked in the Finder or Explorer, Soxy will analyze and match the file in a fraction of a second, and then make sure the document is handled by the right program version.
Without Soxy, double-clicking a file’s icon will often cause the wrong application version to launch. As a result one can unwittingly re-save a document into a more recent file format and as a result, there’s a customer who can’t open an updated file when e-mailed back. Soxy prevents those problems.
Soxy currently supports the following applications and file formats:
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Acrobat
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
QuarkXPress
ExtendScript for InDesign
Web files (.html, .css, .php)
EPS files
The latest Mac release handles EPS files and will automatically discern Illustrator EPS from Photoshop EPS files.
A fully functional, time-limited demo of the application is available for download from https://www.rorohiko.com/wordpress/downloads/lightning-brain-soxy/.
Supported platforms: Mac OS X or Windows.
