Apostropher,

This is an interesting issue. I have experienced similar issues and it typically came from multiple versions of the same font. It appeared that some names had changed slightly. It was a big headache.

Is there a “Document fonts” folder with your source documents? If so, you may have a different version of the font or simply one that has been named differently. If so, you can simply drop this in the “Document fonts” folder of your destination InDesign file.

If this is not the case, im not sure what the issue is. It will be likely that you will need to set up your styles in the new document, preferably not using [Basic Paragraph], and then paste the source text without formatting (Edit > Paste without formatting). Else, replace the font each time through the find font dialog.

You can also try removing the adobe font caches. Personally, I have never had issues with this and neither has anything else I have spoken to. This article speaks to it. https://creativepro.com/fix-font-problems-correctly.php
