My company’s software ‘CircularFLO’ https://www.circularflo.com will handle InDesign drop shadows and transparencies on live text and well as live text on a path.
Alternatively it will allow you to flatten the InDesign page designs whilst keeping all words fully searchable.

CircularFLO also includes the KF8 for Amazon Kindle Store along with the fixed layout EPUB3 for Apple, Kobo, Google and others.

Apple iBooks Author will only export to reflowable EPUB3, the fixed layout ebooks it makes are not EPUBs and are only compatible with Apple iBooks Store.

Finally, just to mention these are ebook formats and not apps so these ebooks will be able to be provided to ebooks stores such as the Apple iBooks Store not the App Store as mentioned in your subject.
