New Version Control Software for Photoshop

PixelNovel announced the commercial release of Timeline — the version control system for Adobe Photoshop based on Subversion(SVN).
Timeline works as a Photoshop plug-in and features a unique user interface that allows you to always see the file’s history, save and get file versions without switching from the main Photoshop window. The software is available for both MS Windows and Mac OS X versions of Adobe Photoshop.
Timeline is based on a popular file version system — Subversion — that is used in many major IT projects such as Apache, Ruby on Rails and KDE. Subversion is well-known for its stability and reliability, and this is exactly what is needed for graphic designers whose files are so difficult to create.
PixelNovel Timeline can be used with any Subversion repository. For the users who don’t have a repository yet, PixelNovel provides feature-rich online accounts at pixelnovel.com. The PixelNovel accounts allow Timeline users to access their work from anywhere in the world, either using Adobe Photoshop or a web browser. The accounts also have a powerful user and rights management system designed to facilitate team collaboration for design projects.

The version for the PixelNovel accounts is free of charge. PixelNovel web storage is a subscription-based service with the price depending on the account size.
