New Certification Exams for Adobe Certified Associates

Certiport has launched Adobe® Certified Associate certification exams for Adobe Creative Suite® 4. The new release comes as the program experiences accelerated growth — the number of exams taken nearly doubled in the second quarter over the previous one. The surge in examinations has been fueled in part by initiatives in Florida and New York to integrate the certification into career and technical education (CTE) programs.
“We are excited to see the spike in certification activity,” said Bob Regan, director of Worldwide Education, K-12, at Adobe. “Certiport has helped us build a program that strengthens students’ CS4 proficiency and provides a doorway into some of the most prolific careers of the information-based economy.”
Under the 2007 passing of the Career and Professional Education (CAPE) Act, the Florida Department of Education has sought to revitalize CTE programs that propel students into high-growth and in-demand professions. Schools that support student achievement of Adobe Certified Associate credentials receive $1,200 in funding for every certified student. A similar endorsement by the New York State Education Department has helped Adobe Certified Associate get traction for within state CTEs. Outside the U.S., the certification of more than 220 college instructors from 36 institutions in Taiwan led to the launch of a competition program among students to achieve the best score on the exams.
Worldwide, the program is now available within 683 testing centers in 44 countries.
The recently released exams include English versions of Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop® CS4, Rich Media Communication using Adobe Flash® CS4 and Web Communication for Adobe Dreamweaver® CS4. Other language versions of the exams will become available in subsequent releases.
For those seeking employment that requires demonstrating the ability to use digital media needed to plan, design, build, and maintain effective communications, Adobe Certified Associate is a certification program that validates the skills of job seekers. Learn more at www.certiport.com/adobe.

The Adobe Creative Suite is extremely powerful. As much as you think you know about it, there’s likely still more to learn. I work for a company that represents Certiport, and they are great at breaking everything down into easy-to-understand language. If you’re looking for a job in graphic design (or a related field), this kind of certification looks great on a resume. Check out Certiport’s blog for examples of how it helps.
