New Off Book episode: The Art of Illustration
The newest episode of Off Book, the PBS web video series on cutting edge arts and artists is devoted to the topic of illustration.
It features conversations with three noted artists, Yuko Shimizu, Sean Gordon Murphy, and Molly Crabapple. There’s also an introductory segment on the history of illustration, which shows how the advent of photography freed illustrators from the job of depicting products, portraits, and current events, and allowed the development of personal styles and imaginitive symbolic works.
