Major Update to Photo App for the iPhone
The image editor Adobe Photoshop costs $699.00. The image editor FX Photo Studio costs $1.99. (That’s one dollar and ninety-nine cents.) I’m not saying that FX Photo Studio, which runs on the iPhone, is anywhere near as powerful as Photoshop, but it’s pretty cool nonetheless, especially for something that costs less than a small latte.
FX Photo Studio just updated to version 4.0, which introduces a masking tool that lets you change only certain parts of a photo. To use the tool, called “Masking Studio,” you choose a brush type, paint on a mask, then apply the effect.
There are a lot of effects and filters to choose from: 194, which include new effects for cross-processing and adding a vintage look.

Version 4.0 of FX Photo Studio also integrates with Instagram, and has speeded up performance. You can buy it on the iTunes App Store.
