The Lytro Gets New Features
The Lytro, that innovative camera that allows you to change the focus of your photos after you shoot them, has been updated just in time for holiday shopping with some interesting new features.
Perspective Shift allows you to interactively change the point of view in a photo, by clicking and dragging on it. In effect, you can change the viewing angle to reveal background details behind objects in the foreground. At present the Perspective Shift is very subtle, but it makes you wonder if someday you’ll be able to see around corners in your photos.
Living Filters is a set of nine interactive Photoshop-like effects including Crayon, Glass, Line Art, Film Noir, and 8-track. You can see examples of Living Filters in action at pictures.lytro.com
Both Perspective Shift and Living Filters will be available on December 4th, and can be applied to any photo previously taken with the Lytro.
The Lytro comes in four standard colors, red, green, blue, gray and costs $399 for the 8 GB model and $499 for the 16GB model.
