Just in Time for the Holidays, Digital Imaging and Video Solutions from Sony Media Software and Corel Now Available

During the holiday season, it is easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of photos and video that will sit in camcorders and digital cameras or on computer hard drives. With that in mind, Corel Corporation and Sony Media Software today announced the general availability of two new software bundles that will help consumers transform their digital photos and videos into keepsakes – Visual Creation Studio™ and Visual Creation Studio Pro™ – at a considerable savings over standalone products.
Available now, the bundles feature award-winning software from Sony and Corel that provides easy-to-use, affordable solutions for video production, photo editing and management and DVD creation all in one box:

  • Visual Creation Studio – Targeted at home users, this bundle combines Sony’s Vegas® Movie Studio + DVD™ with Corel® Photo Album™ 6 to provide the easiest way to manage, edit and share digital photos and videos. Retails for $129.95 USD.
  • Visual Creation Studio Pro – Aimed at advanced hobbyists and semi-professionals, Visual Creation Studio Pro combines Sony’s Vegas Movie Studio + DVD Platinum Edition, which supports both DV (digital video) and HDV (high-definition video) formats, with Corel® Paint Shop Pro® X to deliver powerful video production, photo editing and DVD authoring in a single solution. Retails for $199.95 USD.

“This holiday season consumers can free the digital images and video trapped on their hardware, or laying around in drawers, to create memories to share with family and friends. As consumers become increasingly savvy with editing their digital photos, the obvious progression is to start editing the video taken with their digital camcorders,” said Blaine Mathieu, general manager, digital imaging at Corel. “During this progression, it’s important that consumers do not feel overwhelmed by the software. The Visual Creation Studio bundles were designed to provide consumers with easy to use software with the same level of power they’d come to expect from Sony and Corel.”
“Now that digital video cameras are fully entrenched in consumer households, users want to know how to move the content onto the computer, edit that content and share their memories with friends and family,” said Dave Chaimson, vice president, sales and marketing, Sony Media Software. “The new bundles provide the right amount of technology for people of all skill levels to create digital masterpieces at home.”
Both products are currently available at major U.S. retailers and resellers. The bundles are also available at Corel’s website (www.corel.com) and Sony’s website (www.sony.com/mediasoftware).
