International Typeface Corporation has introduced the ITC Stone® Humanist™, ITC Tetra™ and ITC Tomism™ typeface families, three new designs that can be viewed and purchased at www.itcfonts.com/new.
“Created by two of today’s most influential type designers, these new typefaces flaunt the diversity of what’s available from ITC,” said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at ITC. “ITC continues to expand its exceptional range of fonts that appeal to graphic communicators.”
Sumner Stone designed the ITC Stone Humanist family by blending classical serif letterforms and traditional sans serif shapes that he pulled from his ITC Stone Sans® design. Produced with the same complement of weights as the ITC Stone Sans design, the x-heights, proportions, and underlying character shapes of the ITC Stone Humanist family are fully compatible with the three original Stone Sans, Stone Serif™ and Stone Informal™ designs. Individual fonts start at $39.95.
Tomi Haaparanta’s ITC Tomism family mixes Cyrillic and blackletter shapes. The result is an ornate and angular design that can add fanciful, mythical or exotic undertones to any project. The ITC Tomism Swash design is a more flourished version of the ITC Tomism face. Individual prices of the fonts begin at $39.95. Prices for the volume of both faces start at $72.
The ITC Tetra typeface family, another creation from Haaparanta, grew out of a design study. “I wanted to see how simple I could make a family of letter shapes and still maintain their legibility,” said Haaparanta. The three weights of the ITC Tetra family range from light to black. Individual fonts start at $39.95. The Tetra volume begins at $108.
The new fonts are available for Microsoft® Windows® and Macintosh® platforms in the OpenType®, PostScript® and TrueType® formats. PostScript and TrueType data is packaged together. All ITC fonts include a license for up to five computers and one printer.
