Adobe announced the immediate availability of Adobe® InDesign® CS4 Server, a robust and scalable engine that offers the ability to automate the design, layout and typographical capabilities of Adobe InDesign CS4. With InDesign CS4 Server, developers and system integrators can create powerful automated publishing solutions for a wide variety of markets including enterprise, finance, graphic design, government, newspaper, pharmaceutical, print and retail.
New features and functionality in InDesign Server CS4 include:
* InDesign Markup Language (IDML), performance monitoring tools and dynamic content creation.
* Support for Windows 64-bit systems and the most recent versions of PDF.
* Integration with new Adobe technologies, including Adobe Flex® 3 and Adobe AIR™, which enable developers to create compelling online and offline rich Internet applications.
“Beyond the core creative design, printing, and publishing markets, Adobe InDesign CS4 Server is well-suited for new markets like enterprise segments,” said Karen Lelieveld, marketing and sales manager at Sabern. “Sabern has a proven track record of providing automated publishing solutions to organizations within not only the print industry, but also government, airlines, finance, wholesale, transport, and telecom, so we’re especially pleased with this focus. Additionally, our DesignDB platform takes full advantage of Adobe’s new IDML format, which enables access to Adobe InDesign formatting functions. With the flexibility that this format provides our developers, we can bring the latest generation of automated publishing solution to market quicker than ever before.”
