Hey, Where’s the CS2 and CS3 Tips?
Just because we've been posting CS4 tips recently doesn't mean that CS2 and CS3 users are out in the dust.
Yes, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve been going a little CS4 crazy over here at InDesignSecrets. After all, many of us were beta testing CS4 and we weren’t allowed to talk about it for a long time. So we’re having fun with our newfound freedom. Forgive us. We know that most people still have CS3, or CS2, or even CS. That’s cool. There’s still lots of stuff here at indesignsecrets.com for you, and more to come once our CS4 excitement wears off a little.
For example, here’s a few links to oldie-but-goodie tips you may have missed:
- First of all, if you’re using CS3, make sure you go through all the tips listed in the CS3 category.
- Also, in general, we’ve found that a number of our readers don’t realize that the “All the Secrets” menu in the upper-left corner is a menu… you can find all the archives there (over 600 posts over the past few years).
- You can find some of the most requested posts here.
- Keyboard shortcut for selecting the table cell (or the text)
- Even at the recent InDesign conference I found a number of people did not know that you can do math in all the panels and dialog boxes.
- You can make “cast” shadows in InDesign if you’re tricky
- Here’s a mysterious way to add color swatches
Okay, that’s just a few “reminder” links for you. As I said, there are hundreds more in the archives (though it takes a little searching). In the meantime, we’ll try to come up with some new techniques that will work in CS2 and CS3 (and CS4!) pretty soon.
