Free MagnetoGuides plug-in with New InDesign Magazine Subscription
A new campaign from InDesign Magazine offers the very cool Rorohiko MagnetoGuides for free!

I just noticed this new campaign by the folks at InDesign Magazine: For $49 you get a year subscription AND a $59 plug-in from Rorohiko, called MagnetoGuides. Although I think the magazine is pretty nifty (I act as the editorial director), what is particularly exciting about this is that you’re getting an awesome plug-in from Rorohiko.
MagnetoGuides is one of those plug-ins that you don’t think you need until you start using it. Once you start using it, you wonder why Adobe didn’t put this ability into the program! The basic premise is simple: Instead of objects just snapping to guides, what if you could make objects actually move with guides — move the guide, and the object(s) move, too. Use two magnetoguides (one on each side of an object) and now moving a guide actually stretches the object!
MagnetoGuides also lets you create relationships among the guides on your page, so that moving one can automatically move others (in sometimes amazingly powerful ways).
If you create grid-based layouts, you should definitely check out MagnetoGuides (there’s a demo version you can download). If you like what you see, you might as well subscribe to the magazine and get the plug-in for “free”!
