Free High Resolution Art From the Getty Museum
Sure, we all love free fonts, but what if you’re in the market for something a little more…artsy? How’s a free Van Gogh grab you? Right now, you can download a high res version of Vincent Van Gogh’s Irises for the low, low price of free. And when I say high res, I mean it. It’s a 12 MP image with unbelievable detail, much like the ones we saw recently from the Google Art Project, but even better, because you can download and use this image for any purpose, including commercial work.
Mmm, you can almost smell the flowers.
The Van Gogh image and about 4700 others are part of the Getty Museum’s new Open Content Program, which includes images of paintings, sculpture, drawings, photographs, decorative arts and more.
Browse around and you’ll see Civil War era photos, drawings by da Vinci, Monets, and much more, all free for the taking. Enjoy!
