Find a Local Photographer
Alamy is launching a free service to allow picture buyers to directly contact photographers for commissions and assignments.
Alamy Find a Photographer uses an interface based on Google maps to provide up to the minute contact details and locations for photographers who sign up to the service.
It is open to contributors who have more than 100 images and more than 10 sales with Alamy. They must also be experienced in conducting assignments and/or commissions and have a website showcasing their work.
Alamy CEO James West said: “Alamy is home to one of the largest communities of professional photographers in the world. We think this unique resource will be valuable to customers who need images that aren’t available in stock.”
Customers will be able to search by location to see contact details and portfolio images from photographers in the area. Photographers can update their location and availability at any time.
Alamy Find a Photographer will be trialled first with a small number of customers before being launched as a free service. Alamy is inviting all photographers who meet the criteria to join. Those represented by agents can sign up using their agents’ contact details.
