Epson Stylus Pro 5000
Epson Stylus Pro 5000
Although released in 1997 the Stylus Pro 5000 is still a competent and able printer. An exercise combining the talents of Electronics for Imaging Inc.’s Fiery server and DuPont Color Proofing’s years of experience in color profiling and media production, the printer offered print quality and color fidelity usually found in printers much more expensive. It has the power to simultaneously spool, RIP, and print jobs over your entire network, plus includes Web support and sophisticated color management in a compact package.
ZDNet said as much in their 1998 review, lauding “Epson has achieved something few companies ever attain: It shipped a product that not only does everything that it claims to do, but also has changed the landscape of the market it serves.”
