Enfocus PitStop Connect Guarantees Perfect PDFs
Press Release
Enfocus is pleased to announce the commercial release of PitStop Connect, a brand new tool that enables printers and publishers to create Connectors (small desktop tools, or “droplets”, to drop a file on) containing PDF specifications for preflight, which can be branded to designer/creative professional customers. With PitStop Connect, Enfocus expands the ability to guarantee perfect PDFs.
Beta testing has been very positive. Richard Fazakerley of Pacific Publishing Company, Seattle, has been a PitStop user for years: “It’s my favorite software in the prepress department.” He tested Enfocus’ newest technology, PitStop Connect, with the help of Matt Beals and Tools4Media. He concluded: “I expect that PitStop Connect will make both ours and our customers’ lives easier in many cases.” Fazakerley cites real-life instances where PitStop Connect will come in handy, such as when customers have trouble connecting to the ftp server, streamlining communication with customers, guaranteeing the quality of incoming files, etc. “It really does simplify the whole process,” he says.
As of May 18, the fully functional version is available for users, directly from the Enfocus website. It costs $4,999 and runs on the Mac and Windows platforms. Also, a fully functional (time-limited) trial version can be downloaded from the Enfocus website, as can trial versions of all other Enfocus products.
At Ipex 2010, Enfocus will demonstrate PitStop Connect, along with its other solutions for automation, quality control and preflighting on stand C150 in hall 12.
